Day 17 - Last day
On my last day of my internship. I learn many advices to do when working with people who give you many tasks at once. Even though I knew this it was something I really had to look into. I kept forgetting some stuff at the same time. I had to keep my tasks written down. Today was a long day and I was working more than my regular days. From the last couple of weeks I really learn alot from Mr. Scott and also learn mistakes. I enjoyed working with Mr. Scott and everyone is the building. It was a big huge experience for me and I will remember this for a long time. These experiences will help me alot in the future!

Day 16 - I learn a lesson.

So today I got replies from the artist designers who I contacted. They sounded excited about the offer I gave them. I spoke to Mr. Scott on the information I should give them before anything happens. But I still need to find three more artists who are interested in this book project and that are willing to be the illustrator for Mr. Scott's first novel. Above are some samples of the art I found interesting and amazing that Mr. Scott is looking forward to. The photos are owned to George Zapata.
Tomorrow will be my last day working for Mr. Scott and I've got to say that over the past weeks I've learn a lot from him. I really really appreciated all his advices and skills. Without him I probably would of not learned from my mistakes. Well tomorrow we will discuss more and I'm prepare for what I've got to say.
Day 15 - WeWork for today
Today I decided to work with Mr. Scott. I've continue working on the social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook. I've also started looking for illustrators online. I found two artists who had amazing art work online. They had the type of art Mr. Scott had in mind. I contacted them and waited for a reply, which I will probably receive it tomorrow. I also helped someone move their stuff from their small office to a bigger office. Mostly today I spend it all in the office trying to complete my last task for Mr. Scott, which is to come up with a list of five people who are interested in being part of Mr. Scott's book project.

I handed out flyers at the subway station, resturants, and placed a couple of nice fancy cars. I hope I attract more and more people like that. Well today wasn't a bad day like I said. Even though it's a little cold to be outside. After all I'm enjoying what I'm doing.
Day 13 - Working for Eli
I usually go to We Work every Tuesdays, but today I'm went to work with Eli. It is a job he offered and i took advantage of it. So today, I went to the city and passed out flyers to people outside. I thought it was going to be a little hard but it wasn't that bad. I went to 14St Union Square and stood at a spot for an hour. After the first hour, I went to the other side of Union Square where I took for the remaining hours because I got more people to get my flyers. At first, not many people took the flyers but then they did. Many said "no" and then look at the flyer and said "oh yeah I need that".
After I finish the time I had to work for, I left and went home with many remaining flyers. Tomorrow should be another day I work again for Eli and will be less challenging as the first day.

Today I set up a Facebook page for girlspeak* and then started to look for high schools who have interests in music. I found several schools that have music intheir name and main subject. I added schools from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. I think this event is going to turn out to be amazing because looking at it now I'm putting pieces together and Mr. Scott says that one day I won't believe that it all started with an idea. I'm learning a lot from him.
Thursday, March 17
Day 7: St. Patrick's Day
I met with a few people today who were very nice. I met one guy named Evan while I was collecting surveys and he told me what he does in the WeWork building. We had a little talk and it was great to talk to someone who really finds you interesting.
I worked on the girlspeak* project again and this time I created a email for it and finished the that will be sent out to schools and parents. So far this project is really fun and exciting.
Tonight was happy hour at WeWork and I got to help around and talk to more people that were there. By the end of the day I met with five new people!
Day 6 - A surprise from Mr. Scott
Today was interesting and exciting because I was expecting something good. Mr. Scott told me the day before that he would have something fun for me today. As soon as I walked in to Mr. Scott's office he told me he was sending me to one of his friend's, John place. So I went to the destination where he had gave me and I found the place to be very cool. When I saw John cutting someone's hair right away I knew what I was in for.
It was really a nice surprise for me because I was wondering the day before what Mr. Scott had in mind. So John gave me a cool haircut and we talked. He told me that he had been cutting hair for almost 10 years. I found it very interesting. When he finished I saw a major difference from before the haircut.
I looked more decent with the haircut. After I went back to WeWork, I began working on the letter for the girlspeak* project and also started finding some few silhouettes for the girlspeak* poster and website. This project so far is becoming important to me now because now I'm putting work into it.

Day 5: Mr. Scott has a surprise
Today was an easy day for me because I did basic stuff around the building and I also got to know the building rooms a little more. I did some deliveries.
I continued working on the girlspeak* hyperlinks for it's website and re-edited it with Mr. Scott. Another interesting task I did was to make a sketch for the girlspeak* poster. Mr. Scott told me that the following day I will get a little surprise. I found this interesting and exciting because I didn't know what he had in mind, so I just went with it and expected it for the next day!

Week 1: Excuse Me Your Life is NOW!
So, it's been a week working with Mr. Scott. Thing have gotten a little complicated. Of course I am nervous because it was my very first time working with people who are more experienced than me.
Mr.Scott and I talked about my first week and that next week will be more advanced work for me. He says, I will have to lighten up and talk more. I will have to meet several people around the WeWork building and make friends. I want people to really know who I am and what I can do and not make them think I'm a kid in an internship. I want something interesting from myself and think I'm worth something.
Mr. Scott gave me a book called "Excuse me your life is NOW", I really don't like the book because I feel it's not going to change me or affect me, but I do like the examples and steps that are needed to achieve your goals. I will use the steps and hope it helps me improve working my way up to achieve what I want.
Hopefully Tuesday is a better day than the last couple of days and I start making something out of myself.
Friday, March 11
Day 4: more girlspeak*
Today, I posted up some posters around the WeWork building about a St. Patricks Day networking event. It is meeting that will be held on March 17th, Thursday.
Today, I had to type a list of plans and ideas for the girlspeak* event that will be held in the summer. I saw very nice interesting ideas and plans. The structure of the event, the awards and I think Mr. Scott is also going to be very excited when this happens. This is a good idea for any young girls who want to sing.
I also had to write the MAC addresses of the phones on to the Phone database on Mr. Scott's computer which I found nice the way the database was well formatted and organized. I feel more welcome and comfortable being here and working with the people around me.
Thursday, March 10
Day 3: girlspeak* website
Today I am working on the Executive Summary for the girlspeak* event. I had wrote the information that the tabs Contest Rules, Submissions, Auditions and Awards will have when you click on the tabs on the homepage of the girlspeak* website.
I am trying to make the event look non-profitable because that is what they want it to be since right now the event is both (profitable and non-profitable. Mr. Scott told me today that the website is set and looking awesome. I had not yet looked at it, but I really want to see how creative it turned out to be. So far, I had finishing fixing up the exectuive summary. I got many ideas from the internet and looked at examples on how other people write thier own exectuive summaries. I think my writing put a little change to it and made it seem better than before.
Wednesday, March 9
Day 2: girlspeak*
Today was my second day at WeWork. I was little more comfortable than the first day but I could have done better with people I am still meeting. I think I am still nervous since its only day two but I should overcome that problem soon hopefully.
Today I got to work on the computer they promised they'll have for me. Mr. Scott asked me to continue working on the Executive summary of the girlspeak* event. I got to meet the group that is certainly working on the girlspeak* website which I saw them working on the home page although they were having trouble. I understood more about the event they have plan for the summer and I worked on the information I suggested for the event like contest rules, submissions, auditions and awards.
I think this work was fully cleared to me. One other task I was asked to do was to collect some books and to sell them tomorrow at a book store in which I will find sort of challenging but it should be okay. I hope tomorrow day three is less stressful and hopefully start to impress the people around me and to Mr. Scott.
Day 1: Introduction and Internship
Hello my name is Jeffrey Diaz. I'm a senior at George Westinghouse High school and I am studying in my tech area as becoming A+ Computer repair certified by the end of this school year. As a student , I am also working with a company called WeWork for my internship. This is my first internship and I feel like I should really take advantage of working around the people in this work place and learn from them. By the time I had finish my fifty six hours in working with WeWork I want to have learn my mistakes of working around people and avoid them again in the the future. I want to look back at the beginning of working with WeWork and see my progress of how much I have learn and accomplished throughout the twenty days. One of my goals to leave with here is to have gain skills of working and communicating around people who are well experienced. At the time , I am still learning and little by little I will accomplish and meet new work experiences.
On my first day of my Internship at WeWork, I was kind of nervous because it was first day and I didn't know what I was going to do. Eventually it was a calm and easy time for me. I met a few people and Mr.Scott showed me around the building and got to see other people working. I didn't do much besides work on a executive summary for a event called girlspeak*, Mr.Scott wanted me to do some work on a computer. One of the workers who i had met that day came to the office and said he would have a computer for me the next day since I didn't have one to work on . So it was set that the next day I would be doing some work on a computer. I hope the next few days I become more comfortable and get work done.
